    Anticipation of Delicious

Taken a few weeks ago in the St. Lawrence Market here in Toronto.
I was standing near one of the fine Butcher shops that also produces and serves excellent prepared meats when saw a woman waiting while the butcher prepared her sandwhich. I loved her look of anticipation as he sliced the meat and I grabbed this shot.
Converted to black and white in Photoshop

Nikkor 24 f2 AIS manual focus
    Fujichrome 400 pushed one stop
    exposure probably f2 @ 1/125th

You have taken this anticipation of her the wrong way, I think...because she seems to be talking to someone else instead of looking at the process of preparing her sandwich. I think the butcher preparing the deli for her sandwich is more a nicer position than her...Don't they use a machine to cut those meat over there your way. His hands might be clean, who knows? but here, even in a fast food store, they are required to use those plastic gloves when preparing food. Only when the food is already in boxes and packets are they allowed to give it to the customer...

She was ringing her hands in delight as she watched him slice and kept turning to her companion to comment on how good the sandwiches they prepare here were. I shot as she was taking to that person just because I liked her pose.
As for your food safety comments, I am the Food Safety Person in a Poultry Processing plant and deal with these sorts of issues all week, so on the weekend whenever I'm at the Market I give it a rest, let their Inspector and the various merchants worry about it and just enjoy myself as a civilian and photographer.
The butcher was standing under lights that unfortunately, did not shine down on the customer, so she is a few stops darker than he is.
When I get home I'll brighten her up and then re-post.

I fooled around with the shadow/highlight feature in PS to give the woman more detail and re-posted it.
    Better?

What we need, Robert, is for you to have left the original in the post above and then posted the re-worked version in your next post. Then we could compare and contrast. As it is, I can't answer your questi0on about is this one better, because I never saw the original.

    Donald,
    You are correct.
Stupidity on my part for not thinking.
