    Lottie and Jake

Recent family wedding, caught my two having a chat on the stairs of the hotel - a very rare occasion for me so had to grab the opportunity. Unfortunately the background is very busy and I did not have the room to get a decent bokeh. My son is leaving next Monday to spend 3 months in Nepal with a host family up in the remote hills - the first youth volunteer group from the UK to go to Nepal after the earthquake. I am worried sick but at the same time my heart is bursting with pride - Christmas just won't be the same without him.

I might suggest that Manfred speaks from personal knowledge of the situation existing in Nepal.

I also believe that having altruistic motives in todays' world, populated with bad people, however
well intentioned, is not a well thought out game plan, fraught with all sorts of bad outcomes.

Sometimes, altruistic naivety is not a choice based in wisdom.

There's a softness about this that I find very appealing Joanne because having said that the eyes are sharp (enough). It's a very nice portrait. As for Nepal, add a little envy to your pride. I would have loved to have had the same opportunity at his age.
