although the colours are pleasant and has good contrast with a nice wing span, the shadows on the butterfly affected the overall photo. Consider a flash when shooting bugs.

But be careful when flashing butterflies as this can make them twitch their wings. I always try to avoid flash on them if possible. But it works fine when shooting with wings folded; and flash is my default setting for most bug subjects.
Regarding this particular subject. It looks OK but from that angle it appears as though it has unequally sized wings. When possible I always try to get absolutely square with my subject; although I often take one initial shot like this for identification purposes in case I scare it away while changing my shooting angle.
