    Pushkar

Raj (Fotugraphy) recently posted an image of a girl he took in Pushkar, which reminded me that I had an image of the city I had never gotten around to working, so here it is...

    Pushkar

Pushkar is one of the Hindu holy cities in India and is one of the oldest cities in India.

I was standing near this sign when I took the above shot. The language is interesting. I particularly like point 2....

    Pushkar

And of course, we felt quite welcome by all the walls surrounding some of the buildings with the broken glass embedded in the top of the walls.

I've already posted quite a lot of them here over the past year. I have them in an album on my Flickr page:

Nice set of shots Manfred. Makes me nostalgic for some sunshine. Enjoyed the Do's and Don'ts and applauded the inclusion of "No Polythene Bags". They grow on trees around here - or so it seems. That's what you get if you live within striking distance of a major supermarket. BTW, some really nice shots in your Flickr album that I don't think we have seen on here.

Thanks John - That's quite true, there are often quite a few shots I post on Flickr that don't make it to CiC. Even fewer images get to my Behance site.

Thanks Nandakumar. I really enjoyed my time in India. There's so much hustle and bustle and I hope to get back soon, but next time it will be to the south. My daughter and her husband moved to Bangalore at the end of August and are likely to be there for at least another year.

Manfred...I like the overview of the city...and the do's and don'ts are interesting too...but the last shot I think is a sarcastic one. In many Asian and latino countries I have been, broken glass on top of the wall is a way of saying Do Not Enter nor climb.

It is indeed. People who have traveled to developing countries are probably well versed in the way broken glass and even razor wire is used as a "Keep Out" message; at private residences and at hotel. Those who haven't won't know this and they are my target audience with this shot.
