    NASCAR Race Experience

A few years ago we took my FIL out to the Chicagoland Motor Speedway in Joliet, IL so he could drive a NASCAR for his 50th Birthday. Everyone else got to ride with a "pro" and I got to test out some panning shots. It was a very fun day, and we've all since been back to ride along again. Shot with Nikon D5100 and Sigma 18-200mm, handheld.

I haven't been to that racetrack for years now...way before Dale Earnhardt passed away...do they still issue you a certificate after going around the tracks? How much does it cost nowadays? Just a few questions in my mind I'd thought I'd ask...

The drive was a bit pricey at around $800 for two sessions. He got a nice certificate showing his top speed of 165mph, and my wife and I printed a photo book with about 10 images of him going around, and in the pit suited up. The ride along was cheap by comparison at around $60-$70, but no certificate. There seems to be a perpetual sale, sometimes it's a little cheaper than others but not often.
