Re: Cassowary
Rob,
Nice series. Weird looking bird; make me think of a Corythosaurus. I like #2 best.

Re: Cassowary
This is nicely done...better than the other birdie shots you had in another post...the look is perfect. You nailed #2 here. Well done.

Re: Cassowary
Thanks Izzie, I am quite happy with these too. We were driving along a little back road and we saw this one with a chick. I grabbed my camera off thr back seat and it had my macro lens on it. Would have loved a zoom at that point to hang out the window with.

Re: Cassowary
Grab yourself a window camera mount one day so you do not have to scramble... Put it on your bucket list or send me a PM with your address and I'll send it to your address.

Re: Cassowary
Just seen on TV that there are only about 1000 of these left in the wild. Makes this little encounter a bit more special.

Re: Cassowary
Good shot. I have seen a couple of these in zoos but never in the wild. Did you get sliced down the chest as we were warned?

Nah, I was hanging out the window of a rental car oblivious!

Re: Cassowary
A very fortunate catch. The parent looks to be in top condition.
