    Birds of the bush

    Now summer is here most of the chicks have flown and can fend for themselves.
    Birds of the bush

    A Mangrove Kingfisher.

    Variegated Fairy wren - a male from this year's brood.

    Beautiful series. The Mangrove Kingfisher is my favourite with that colour contrast.

    Simply superb..... In the first image you may please trim away upper part where we see the blurred leaves in the fore front.....

    That kingfisher has an attitude problem or was that an "altitude problem" because he is situated higher???
    The fantail is angry at the photographer I think...
    I like the last one better..

    Can you please number your images so I do not have to scroll backwards and forwards? I am far too old in this scrolling game that is why I gave up playing Pacman...

    The other option I thought of was to paste a focused leaf over the OOF one.

    The kingfisher is very territorial and did have a bit to say when when a Pardalote took the top branch on 'his' tree.

    Thanks for the info on the Kingfisher...and I've not seen a Pardalote before. It looks cute...

    That pardalote shot was difficult - it was back-lit but against an overcast sky butI managed to drag a little colour out of it. They are beautiful little birds.
