    The Iceline Trail

A few years ago while visiting my son in Calgary Alberta he suggested we do the Iceline Trail hike. It was a beautiful day with bright intense sunshine and all I had with me was my small Canon point and shoot camera. It was a memorable day to hike up to the glacier but was also the toughest hike I had ever attempted. About 17 km covered with a big part of that being up the side of the mountain.

This is my son standing beside a pool of glacier run-off.

Open in full size for a better look.

True Dan, the wife and I were so tired by the time we reached the top that my son ended up carrying both backpacks. We also didn't bring enough drinking water so I filled our water bottles from the glacier run-off. That water was cold, clear, and tasteless so although I was worried we might get sick from that water we never did.
