It's not always about hunting ducks

This morning, I finally had the time to sit and just watch the day come to life. When there are no ducks flying, it gives me time to contemplate, reflect and witness an amazing start to a new day. This is the type of stuff the "recharges my batteries". Just being out in nature, breathing in the crisp autumn air and watching this is good for the soul. Too bad there are so many people that don't get to see views like this.

What a beautiful place to be to savour the beauty of nature...!!

I am one of those...I love lingering in bed until 8 or 8:30am...need my sleep so I can guess you can call me a not so serious photographer...and it is cold out there at this time of the year for me. I am a warm blooded person not snowy bound one. Me and my grandchild will go together well...

I'm not that fond of the cold either, BUT, I REALLY like hunting/fishing/camping/outdoors. And, cold is part of that. This is what I did in order to get that shot. Wake up 0300. Drive 45min in the cold rain. Wait in line 1+hrs to get this spot. Unload a cart full of "stuff"out of my truck. Put on 5mm chest length waders. Pull cart full of "stuff" almost 1 mile out to the blind. Set out the "stuff" and sit and wait for the ducks to fly. In the cold. While waiting, said sunrise came and got out my little P&S cam and clicked. I didn't do all that just to get the shot of the sunrise. The moment was just an added bonus to an otherwise wasted day of hunting. I think my wife thinks I'm a little mentally unstable to do what I do. And, that's OK too. She's probably right (as usual).

Or rather, too bad more people don't take the time to witness views like this.
