Yes, much better than #1 with the border and the crop is better than #2. I think removing the splashes help focus the attention on the bird, and there is just enough room for it for fly 'into' towards the right. Last nit is the white along the net is a touch hot, not sure if any more detail can be saved there but otherwise this is a really nice image I think!
