    Roughhead Blenny

    Roughhead Blenny (Acanthemblemaria aspera)

A handful of shots of a very expressive yet tiny fish (about 1 inch long)...

Now, if they'd had the same framing and we could have stepped through in LyteBox, that would've been cool.

    The eyes have it.

Yes very good. I particularly like the head angle in #1.

Dave, did I do something wrong in posting them? The eyes definitely have it with these expressive little guys!

    No, not wrong, Bill.

I was just thinking that since the fish hasn't moved, if the camera framing also hadn't moved, there was an opportunity for a sequence showing a static scene with just the eyes moving. Perhaps even (for fun) an animated GIF, not that I mean any disrespect to your pictures.

However, since you were probably diving when shooting these and not using a tripod 'down there', my idea is rather stupid!
    (how could you keep still)

    Cheers, Dave

Ah - yeah... holding still is definitely a challenge. I do think some professionals use tripods underwater, but I'm not at that calibre that I can take that much more gear!

I do like the idea of the single framing with just the fish moving. I wonder if I could accomplish that with photoshop.

Nice expression in #1 -- I sincerely thought that it has actually eyelashes...
