    Copper/Nickel refinery

I live in the nickel capital of the world, or at least it use to be. Mining has been the largest employer here for over 100 years although now it is a fraction of what it use to be. I can still remember when there was a strike at INCO the entire city suffered and seemed to come to a halt. There are still many operating mines around here and some old refineries that have been shut down. The stack at this one is still being used but not as part of the building you see, emissions are being pipped from a newer refinery just out of frame to the left.

Nice composition, that base of the structure appears shrouded in fog.

I agree with John - it is very nicely composed but, except for the building at the base of the stack, the bottom quarter of the image seems to lack contrast.

    Cheers.

Neat shot Dave...I agree with others about the base of the image...I was thinking fencing might be the culprit here...
