On the way home from the bank this morning I decided to drop by a small lake, about 10 hectors in size, that is within the city limits and minutes from home. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw 2 Bald Eagles standing on the lake ice while one was eating a fish. I've never seen a Bald Eagle in the city, ever. So I hurried home and grabbed my camera and a 70-300 lens. I was back at the lake in no more than ten minutes arriving just as the eagles were taking flight. Off they went over the hill and gone.
Oh well, there were still a bunch of ducks noisily paddling around in an unfrozen section of the lake so I snapped a few images after I changed some settings on the camera. It was heavily overcast, grey dime light, so not the best conditions especially using a slow lens.
My first attempt at shooting birds.
