I vividly remember the first time I displayed an image of a broken wine glass. Donald was in horror to think that it might have been a Riedel glass because it would have been very expensive to replace.
I actually don't own any Riedel wine glasses but I'm open-minded to buying Riedel straws if they put them on the market.
Thank you to Binnur, Mark and Kaye.
Mike - At first quick glance at this post, the thing that struck me as being out of place is the opener. For some reason it just doesn't have the right look to me. Too new, not used enough, maybe it just needs a cork on it?
Nice picture though. I don't have enough patience for glass photography. TOOOOOO many reflections for me to deal with.
Mike...humor me and just try a bottle of German Eisweins...my favorite wines of all time.
Thank you to Alan and Chauncey!
I have a philosophy about that: I'm making photos of products in my home as opposed to items that are clearly selected only or mostly for use as a prop in a photo. For me, that's the reality that I always want to include in a scene with very rare exceptions. I have four cork screws and the one I used seemed most appropriate for the scene. It wouldn't have made any sense to me to see a cork on the cork screw because the corks were still in the bottles in the scene (as evidenced by the foil on all bottles being unmarred) and there was no wine in the glass.
Sorry, but I don't enjoy dessert wines on their own and shouldn't be eating the desserts they go with. I'm going to have an expensive Sauternes on Saturday but that's only because I was ordered to serve it by my friend as a pairing with the crème brûlée she is going to make.
