Any advice
Hello members, I bought nikon d7100 refurbished from adorama. It looks new. I have nikon 35mm 1.8 G lens, sigma 18-250mm and tamron 10-24mm. I love taking landscape pictures and some portraits. I want to maximize with what I have. So any advice is appreciated.
Thank you

Re: Any advice
Araia advice is a good start, if you are some one who is into Landscapes, a good and I mean a good tripod and either a cable release or a remote release would be a good start. One other thing practice, practice, and more practice, and them when you have done all that do it again and again.
Cheers: Allan

Re: Any advice
Welcome to CiC Araia - it looks like you have some of the basic tools that you need to do both landscapes as well as portraits. You have lens focal lengths in the range required for both these genres.
Both of these genres are rather wide-reaching; landscape photography ranges from those beautiful vistas, seascapes, urban landscapes as well as detailed shots in those environments. Portraiture is just as broad a category, ranging from more formal portraits, to candid shots to environmental portraits, head shots and abstract shots.
I would also agree with Allan that a good tripod is absolutely essential for landscape photography. Fairly minor changes in camera position can change a very average landscape shot into an extraordinary one. A tripod slows you down and makes you consider your framing / composition more carefully, The only word of advice I would offer here is that good tripods and heads are not inexpensive. Many people start of with rather low end tripods and will find the experience rather frustrating. A lot of landscape photographers will tell you that you actually save money buying a good unit as you won't have spent your money on several iterations of cheap ones.
Portraiture is a completely different type of photography as when you do portraits, you need to interact with your subject. Light and shadows on your subject's face is what makes a portrait. Unlike landscape work you will need to direct your subject.
