everything you see is handcrafted one piece at a time. That way everything fits. The floor (an upcoming shot?) has give or take 50,000 (fifty thousand) hand carved and placed bamboo nails.

truth in advertising. I tried shooting in the house about 18 months ago. This time around with a better camera and more experience it worked a lot better.

It truly is. the people that built it were excellent. I tried it in B&W but i couldn't get the tonal quality where it needed to be.

we had a marvelous combination of artisans working on the house. Plus we actually moved in once the roof was on and there was enough of a floor to sleep on. About half way through the construction the company president came to talk with us. they couldn't finish the job at the agreed to price. he suggested that they finish the house at their expense and create a show piece for their future customers. All we had to do was to allow them to show our house to their possible customers. Took us about 1.5 seconds to say yes.

the lighting is natural, What looks like a smallish triangle at the top is nearly tall enough to stand in. There is another at the other end. Plus we had some of the walls out and the doors open.

False modesty aside I agree about this shot being one of my best. Still a long way to go but i am getting there.

Absolutely. The camera was set us for dim light and with the angle i would have needed to be on my back to get the shot hand held. probably would have ended up taking a nap.
