A lot of haze in the original photo but I like the B & W conversion enough to post for C&C. I've tried more of a landscape cropping to allow the "rule-of-thirds" but I loose what I like to see...so I'm happy with the horizon in the middle Thanks for viewing.

Very cool shot Sam. I like the shadows being cast by the clouds.

Thanks Alan, I think the haze made that possible.

Hi Sam I would soften the clouds a bit as they dominate those nice light rays.

Even though i did not mention this point, i too thought this would enhance the effect (what Binnur has pointed out)

Sometimes a half way horizon can work and in this case the apparent horizon line appears to be above half way (not the actual horizon) so that creates a acceptable balance.

I agree about carefully and selectively toning down the cloud brightness just a touch.

I thought the same thing Geoff. When I read that part of Sam's post I thought "No, the horizon isn't in the middle..." Looked again and there it was.

Great shot Sam. I absolutely love those rays.

I have seen this kind of clouds from my backyard and was thinking if it would be nice to photograph it but changed my mind.I am more intrigue at the shape of where the clouds are because it looks like another planet on top of our earth...nice shot...maybe a bit more softening on the right hand side of the clouds to blend it better?

Hi Izzie, I see the planet I think I have softening the clouds about as much as I can and still have them bright enough. Thanks.
