    The smoker

    Chinatown, here in Toronto.
Taken last summer, I noticed a well-dressed Asian man striking a pose as he stood and smoked.
I liked the scene and grabbed this shot.

If you correct the tilt, everything else is just wonderful. Great facial expression, body language and juxtaposition of lines. Consider toning down the two bright rectangles of light on each side of the subject's head. Also consider converting to monochrome.

    Mike,
Thanks for your insightful and detailed comments.
With respect to the tilt, the subject was standing on an elevated walkway in front of a coffee shop about five steps up from street level so I was shooting up at him. additionally I was using a 25, which added to the distortion of the scene.
What you see here was cropped substantially from the original to eliminate as much of the distortion as possible.
I made the top of the concrete in the foreground parallel to the bottom of the frame and just let the rest of the shot "fall" as it did.
To me it seems that in addition to being physically above the viewer, from his attitude it appears the subject thinks he is in other ways as well.

No question about that! And if you had thought otherwise, I'm sure he would have been happy to correct you.
