My First Buck Kill During Bow Season (Mounted)

Hi Everybody,

I uploaded the pictures from the day I got my Buck this Bow Season so I figured I'd post the picture I just took after it was mounted on my wall. Came out looking awesome and now my office looks badass. What do you think?

After I shot him, he was brought right to the butcher and taxidermist. Took the Taxidermist over 3 weeks to bleach the skull, but the butcher had the meat ready for me the next day!

To each, their own. I have about 80 lbs of meat from this buck and a cool trophy on the wall. I tagged a doe and a buck this bow season so I'm extremely happy with that outcome.

I totally agree, killing for sport is utterly reprehensible. If you really need the food, there is no need to brag about it, hanging it's head on your wall and posting proud photos of it.

When did the men of the world become such pussies? It's fun to kill your food and get a nice head trophy. Listen, if you guys wanna go out into the woods and tongue kiss deer, have at it. I like to go out and hunt which is good for the environment and hunters contribute more money than you do to conservation by buying hunting licenses.

I'm not sure that masculinity is best measured by one's enthusiasm for killing animals. Nor, I suspect, did the animal think the killing was great fun.

However, there are differing cultural attitudes and values at play in an exchange such as this and I think it's best the discussion is closed at that point.
