Nice double entendre, Kit. What's a COF? Certificate Of something, I'd guess.

    Cheers,

Nope, I go with your choice. The first one is more 'gutsy'. The second one looks like a nice, gentle guy wearing sunspecs.

That's sounds like something that requires urgent medical attention.

    Two guitars

A combination of two of my hobbies:

    Day 15: July 2010 Photo-a-Day Thread

    8s . f/11.0 . ISO 100 . 44 mm

Rob, Are those self portraits? I like the second one the most for it's more mysterious character.

    Yes, self-portraits.

I like the guitars. Very vibrant shot, with good composition. But why do I keep seeing a woman in the one on the right???

    Re: One of those days!

Very late to bed last night, very early up this morning, and then fractious conference calls all day, capped by a stupid conversation with the States resulting in a late finish.
I now need wine, Probably Vina Sol (a very light and drinkable white I first found in Barcelona but can now be found in ASDA).

So, there is no reason or logic to these shots attached beyond the fact that I decided to put together a miscellany of items within 5 mins, and then shoot them.

    Well done Colin. Thank you.
When I install it I will be very careful and when I start working with it I will be very happy and excited !
I hope then to be able to work with two monitors, having on the right a smaller one with the program and on the iMac the image and nothing but it. Gorgeous

    Eagle Owl

I went on a Wildlife Photographic Day today, now v.tired, but of course, cannot sleep until PAD posted ...

    Day 15: July 2010 Photo-a-Day Thread

    Nikon D5000 + Nikon 105mm VR2 Macro: 1/1500s f/4 at iso800

As a lens, I found the 105mm Macro quite liberating; I had a couple more stops to play with and nothing ever got too close for me to focus on, although the lack of zoom was a slight inconvenience at times

    View much bigger (2185 square)

I wasn't able to get out at all yesterday.

Today, I was hoping the center pivot would be in the proper position at the Northern end of its swing to get a rainbow in its spray. Alas, it got there faster than the sun set. So, I tried for some angles.

By next week, one will not be able to see the sprinkler heads for the height of the corn.

    Re: Sunset over the Bay

Peter b - fabulous use of dof & a nice t.i.c. bit of humour.

Rob - #1 all the way. The only little nag would be the white reflection in the lh eye-piece.

Antonio - Mac-lust has fallen upon me.

Rick - COF is Certificate of Fitness and is used for bigger vehicles like buses, trucks etc. Once every 6 months, we hold our breath for about 45 minutes.....

Jeroen - great presentation of these instruments. Colour and contrast is brilliant. There must be something wrong with me, because I only saw gee-tars.

Dave - wonderful focus on those orange eyes. S/he looks as though he's saying "Take one more step..."

Pops - #1 has great colour and a different perspective.

Re: Guess what's in the box

    James,
I really like your third shot. It's a bit abstract, quite colourful and it looks happy with the figures on it. The only thing I could say is that your camera position is a little bit too high. Because of this you get a bit of deformation in the squares.

Thank you for your comment Kit

    Rob,
The guitar on the right has a so called "Jumbo" body. It's a little bigger, in particular at the bottom piece. So it has a nice bottom, broad hips a thin waist and a bigger chest. Well that might explain why...

    Re: I'm not beaten yet!

Very cool, Peter, well done. I like it floating above the reflection instead of touching.

    Cheers,
    Rick
