I'm afraid this is a too crowded image Sam.I would crop the image from the line below the hills where the trees end and go for a panoroma
Sam -- can do a little bit more exposure on this one? Please...also, crop that little bit of cloud/sky at the very top left hand side..it doesn't contribute much to your image.
it could be appealing when it is wall sized; here it looks a bit cluttered
I played with it in lytebox and to me it looks better cropped on the bottom just so the bight(silo) object is out of the frame.
I like the clouds the way they are. I also think Nandakumar had a good observation on the size.
No matter I like it anyway Sam.
Possibly one of those scenes which works well in colour but doesn't transfer well to B&W.
This image kind of reminds me of Bruce Barnbaum's 'Basin Mountain, Approaching Storm'. I agree with Mark about cropping bottom off to the top of the silo. The bright foreground area is a problem for me, and it leads to the bright silo, which keeps pulling my eye away from the landscape.
So, try the crop and then try adjusting the lighting.
I like it as it works as a series of patterns and lines, however as a landscape the focus is a bit too even from foreground to background and makes it appear too linear or flat.
I changed my mind about my crop suggestion Sam, I agree with Mark and Greg about cropping bottom off to the top of the silo, that one seems to be a better composition
Hi Greg - Thanks for comparing this photo Basin Mountain now if I could only get the same price ($2,500) for mine. The problem with cropping the silo out is simply that I like it in. However, I did try it several times. Perhaps I'll come back to it one day and come around to liking it out.
I did do some slight cropping and lighting adjustments per your and Izzie's recommendation and I like it much better. It was great to get everyone's feedback.
Its got a lot of potential Sam, the crop works a lot better but to me the sky seems over-processed (which I am too often guilty of doing myself) and overall a bit dark, although that could be my Macbook screen!
Yes Sam...better! when I said what I said, I saved your image in my desktop (then deleted it) and loaded it in Photoshop and Nik's. Give and take a bit here and there, this is the same as what came out...so beautiful....I love it...
