Will we have a white Christmas

Big snowflakes today as Christmas gets closer. Still suppose to be 6 degrees Celsius on Wednesday with rain so a green Christmas is a very real possibility. Unusual since I live in norther Ontario.
My sister in-law live across the street......I call that the Pepto Bismol bike.

You can only hope, we will have a very white xmas. The trees are covered in hoarfrost and unless we get a wind it should stick around.

Statistically, Ottawa gets about 98 White Christmases a century. It looks like this year will be one of those exceptions with forecast high temperatures of around 14° C / 57° F on Christmas Eve.

I understand that the government (Environment Canada, which runs the Weather Office) defines a "White Christmas" as having at least 2cm (about 7/8") of snow on the ground at 07:00 on Christmas Day.

Dave, Just keep in mind we're in a record breaking El Nino ( I love El Nino mitigated weather )

As I look out my window, I see some wet stuff falling from the sky. Hopefully, the El Nino will bring a halt to the drought that has plagued us for years here in California.

I would like very much a white Christmas.......but we will have here in Adelaide a 37C ( hot ) Christmas, and as usually, many people will spend the day on the beach........

We, in Minnesota, are expecting a brown Christmas. Lakes have a thin coat of ice and skiers, ice fisherman, and pond hockey players are getting nervous. We are optimistic that we may get 2" to 4" Christmas night. I, on the other hand, am rather enjoying the deficit

Years ago I saw a photo in the paper of an Aussie Santa, all bundled up for the Northern cold, on a beach

Just as odd as having no snow in Northern Ontario is that there appears to be a good chance of a White Christmas in Vancouver

Nice capture, it's interesting how we normally detest the wrath of winter yet welcome it for a few hours on Xmas.

I'm happy, my Jingle Day weather forecast is showing a nice Sunny 16 with 70°F / 21°C, rain and possible snow will hit the days after

Here on the other hemisphere, we can have a white Christmas only if we live in a freezer

Thanks Nandakumar...that was a precious thought...!!! now I have to clean off my breakfast from my keyboard.

Anyway, we are going to have a windy Christmas...not fond of snow like our dogs. I am not looking forward to snow.

Griddi -- Mount Buller has a lot of snow in the middle of the year...perhaps you can wait a bit...? Or open your freezer and stick your head inside it for a while...When your eyeballs are cold enough, you might see the Northern Skies...

Beautiful...keep it away from us here, OK??? We are having quite a storm since daybreak today and it will dump around 7-8" in the next 48 hours...I have 8 towels for the kids (dogs) and they are all drying in the garage...if they don't dry well by tomorrow I will have to use the dryer and put my dogs in there to dry...ooooOOOOooooo the towels I mean, not the odgs.
