Balcony - C&C are most welcome

This picture was taken at a step well. And i have tried to capture a candid moment, where the lady was trying to capture her selfie and I caught her in my camera. .

Place - Adalaj Step Well, Gujarat, India.

This stepwell was built in 1499 by Muslim king Mohammed Begda for Queen Rani Roopba, wife of Veer Singh, the Vaghela chieftain.

Kindly share your C&C for the same.

    Regards,

    Tejal

Nicely framed and a great candid moment. Is there a reason why you shot this in ISO 2000? It makes it quite noisy when looking closely at the lady.

Thanks . Actually, it is a well and this balcony is made little inside, so there was no enough light. Flash also i cant use as i didnt want to make her aware. So, ultimately ISO went up .

That explains it! It's still a great picture! I'm nitpicking.

Very nice image Tejal I like the patterns and the texture very much in the image. I would crop the first two rows of patterns at the top (by leaving the circular patterns in the frame) for a better look.

I love this image... A bit of global noise reduction using NIK Dfine might help the woman and the area around her...

It is funny that knowing the location and likely complextion of the lady even now I cannot see any noise worth bothering about ... but then I started with film where unless working with MF or LF noise [ grain] was an accepted fact of life and the real question was/is does it detract from the image. Certainly here it does not.

I suspect flash would have spoilt the image so your caution in picking high ISO paid off ... though unless you took more than one frame I think you would have had the shot before she noticed the flash. But then she might have been upset at having her picture taken. Judging from a shot my wife took with her Ipad thingie recently I doubt if her shot in the low light would be as successful as yours Tejal

Nice work. I like the contrast between the ancient stepwell and modern technology. The light levels are low but everything is lit up evenly. Nice atmosphere.

Not sure if this would improve the composition or not, but I would be tempted to crop about 5% from both the top and the bottom of the image.

Thanks for your feedback, yes that could be done. I was so much liking the carving, so left the frame as it is without cropping much of its parts.

Uh...uh...Forget about doing anything more to the noise, it is very negligible and might hurt the image. It looks good as it is now (my goodness! it feels good thinking of you as a girl....)

There are so many ways to crop this shot if you look at it more closely...If this is mine, I will crop in different ways and save it even just for reference. I really like that part where the light and the darkness of the frame meets and frame the woman.
