    Embrace the light. C&C Welcome

Hi, going forward on my photography venture I stopped and clicked another shot. Can you please review it and let me know what exactly is missing for it to make it much better?

Please provide your views and suggestion with composition, frame, crops and processing.

    Thank You

For me, this is one of those scenes where I wonder which is the main subject; the foreground sand ripples or the balloons and people.

Personally, I find that blank area in the bottom left corner distracting so I would crop much tighter and lose the bottom half, approximately.

    Hi Raj,

For me there is a bit too much and then most of it's not even close enough. I would crop out most of the sky and just concentrate on the sand and the light falling onto it. Another possibility would be to crop out the foreground area and concentrate on the sky, balloons, roadway, and camels with riders.

Raj - I'm with Geoff and John on this one. It's not an image that works all that well for me. The part with the footprints in the sand and the part with the balloons in the sky are really two separate images that compete with each other in the same shot. I can see going with one or the other (or both separately), but the way it is, there really is no focus to the image.

It is not bad; but yes, true; the problem is that there are two points of interests which are on two opposite ends... If instead, you had a single person walking away after creating that food prints, there would have been a connection between the ends and thus you would have a story; further bottom part is too heavy that chocks the upper part. Still i take this as an experimentation of composition and perspective....But i am sure you have much in stock from this place; afterall it is Pushkar, a dream place of all photographers from all over the world.... Hope one day i will be able to visit there

FWIW my opinions on the composition match what others have said, you're just a bit too far from the scene, if you were closer, I think that you could get a shot where the orbs that are the balloons are complimented by similar shaped ripples in the sand, and this in turn could be underlined by the two colours, sand and sky.

Now that's out of the way, how about I tell you what I like?!

I think the colours are great, I like how the blue gets lighter towards the sand, and the sand gets darker towards the foreground, almost like a mirror of the zone system. The shot is plenty sharp, and the DOF has been imo well executed.
