Nice composition, what is that white triangular section below the moon?

I tried to grab some shots with the phone this morning on the way to work. Failed miserably compared to this beauty!

    Nice shot Brian.

All I saw this morning was a glow in the clouds.

I am not sure about the composition; this would be great if we see the leaf blades separately than as a tuft; this is completely masking a major part of the moon, which is not a pleasing thing

it's part of the moon seen through a triangular opening in the foliage.

It creates an abrupt change in the composition, the mind would normally try to complete the circular shape of the moon, the triangular shape puts a halt to the transformation.

I was going to go for the same sort of shot, but couldn't find any coconut trees in Glenfarg ... so didn't bother!

With my skills and the Fujifilm S4200 this was as good as i could get. The only other options were a moon by itself or a tiny dot captured in the Sony.

We have 4 or 5 sprouting coconuts... I could send you one or two. With global warming you might soon be able to grow them?
