I liked this; is this a part of Christmas celebrations? why you named it thus?

THERE IS smoke in the water! It is not as widespread as a bush fire or a fog but it is there...The exposure time is just right too at 1/200. I would have thought around 1/350-1/500 would have been my take on this...good study of shutter speed timing...

    Hi Nandakumar,

Yes, it's part of a Christmas celebration held in Miami. I named it after a song and the effects that were presented to my vision that day. Thanks for commenting.

    Hi Izzie,

Usually to capture smoke you have to go as much as 1/60sec but that would blur the boats but would also capture longer trails of the fireworks, so it was a compromise to get it all. Thanks for commenting.

perhaps the next phrase from that song would be apt as well.. "... fire in the sky!". You really have to look at this in the bigger view to appreciate the details I think. Nice shot.

And don't forget to position yourself somewhere strategic to get a good foreground/background element.

In my very little break after dinner last night, I researched Composition Techniques just to give me some ideas and also loaded some info in my notes for when we go out again. I will be getting cabin fever if this rain doesn't stop soon so I am amusing myself just in case. I just got the good ones I can understand ... and your advice here is one of them I had included in a side note, as important...thanks.
