Petra,
A good effort on your goal and well presented.
Lovely Petra - she really has the most stunning eyes and this shows them so well.
Hi Petra,
I can imagine it now:
Mom: "Hi darling, I want to take your picture"
Daughter: "Great, shall I change my clothes?"
Mom: "No Honey, they are just fine"
Daughter: "Are you sure?"
Mom: "Yes, they're fine"
Daughter: "Where shall I pose?"
Mom: "oh, stand behind that fence would you, and peer through that little slit"
Daughter: (thinks) 'I knew I shoulda changed, she hates my clothes'
Now, more seriously, this is a great idea quite well shot, but I have a suggestion for a re-shoot
(Daughter: "oh, no, not all that again")
I wonder if subconciously, it would look, no, subliminally 'feel' any better if the paler piece of wood were the one at the top of frame with the darker one below. Something to do with it psychologically (sp?) an image feels more balanced if the light area (representing sky) is at the top of the frame? (with dark area, for ground, at bottom)
Just an idea; has anyone else heard that mumbo jumbo, sorry, theory, before?
The only other thing that grabs my attention are the few well lit wisps of hair over her left ear, on right of picture, as they stand out against the dark background.
Gorgeous eyes though, with a nice, natural shaped, catchlight.
Well done,
Dave - you have been listening in at my house when i ask Princess to be my 'test subject' again!
but yes I'm sure I've read about the same theory of 'lighter top with darker bottom'
That makes total sense. The boards were loose, so, if allowed , I could switch the boards and try again. My daughter and her friends think I am really weird. It was getting late, so this was how we ended the day...Now, more seriously, this is a great idea quite well shot, but I have a suggestion for a re-shoot

Thank you very much, Shadowman. I will keep trying!
Kit, she is very shy and wishes she had blue eyes! I will let her know what you said.
