    Symbiosis

Taken this summer in Edward's Gardens, a very large park and Botanical Garden here in Toronto.
As I was walking through the grounds, I came upon a couple sitting together on the grass, using each other as backrests, and seeing the humour in the situation, grabbed this shot.

Humor possibly, practical yes, I can never figure out why they design park benches without backrests. Nicely captured.

Concrete slabs without backrests are obviously less expensive, ergo they are better.
Besides as in so many other aspects of our lives, the people who design things likely never use them, so they are indifferent to their shortcomings.

    Izzie,
They are doing something that is mutually beneficial to both=Symbiosis.
There is more green background than anything else in the shot, and it's effect can even be seen on the blanket as well as the woman's hat, because the couple was sitting in the shade of an enormous tree which imparted some colour cast.
This was also technically a tough shot as the subjects were in shade, while the background was in bright contrasty sunlight.
I exposed for the subjects, and toned down the background to keep it from totally overpowering the couple.
Their faces were dark so they were brightened a bit as well, and the saturation was reduced somewhat to tone down the bright green.
Overall, I'm pleased with the result as it tells an interesting story.
