Plustek 8200i and vuescan
Hello, after shooting digital for s few years I got the hankering to revisit the silver side and shoot some film. I have developed one roll of tri-x 400 so far and hope to shoot some more soon. My question is, does anyone have any advice on using vuescan for tri-x 400? The scans I've been getting are OK but I want to isolate variables which are many at there moment:
The camera and lens (Olympus 35sp)
The film
My shooting skills (still learning)
My developing (compete novice)
Scanning (novice again)
Thanks in advance, pics to follow

My guess is that your success will depend much more on how well vuescan works with your scanner and how proficient you become with scanning. While some films scan better than others I doubt that the choice of scanning software is an important determining factor.

Re: Plustek 8200i and vuescan
I did a lot of scanning some years back, and found it better to scan to 16-bit, and reduce the processing done by the scanner software as much as possible, esp. sharpening and dust/scratch filtering. I made an exception to this - infrared dust removal is effective with C41 & E6 emulsions. A rocket blower & neg brush are vital with all film types.
HTH, and good luck!
