    Dogs are not disposable commodities

We sincerely believe that dogs are not disposable commodities to be thrown away when they get old or are not as spry as when they were young. As long as the quality of their lives is decent and they are not in pain, we will save them and find places where they will get care and love in their later years...

A.J. is an older Yorkshire Terrier who is partially deaf and who cannot see all that well either. However he is quite happy when being held. He is going to a foster who is looking forward to making him comfortable and happy for the last months or years of his life.

Gemma "our Little Mouse" is a ten year old miniature poodle who had a bad mouth infection when we rescued her. Dental work and antibiotics have restored her health. She has only a few teeth left but we feed her soft food and treats and she is doing quite well. She loves sitting with us and watching television...

Judy and I will be receiving three or four additional dogs tomorrow...

    How right you are, sir.

And, by the way, I'm not forgetting to PM you about next September in the Eastern Sierra

You don't get a FAQ for babies either, you just learn as you go, thankfully there is enough information available online to give potential caregivers an idea of what may occur. Nice captures.

What's sad here in Texas is how people release their unwanted Dogs in rural areas. I'm not sure if their intent is "They will be better off in the wild" or simple abandonment, but feral Dogs have become a real threat. The dumped Dogs who encounter Coyote packs and survive to join in often cross breed and the resulting Coydogs make the packs more bold and confrontational.

I had a young adult Horse killed by a pack. All that was left was her skeleton plus the surrounding 15 foot radius was covered in blood after just one night. I live on my land with my Horses and interact with them daily, so this was not a situation were the Horses were alone for weeks at a time.

I now have Donkeys specifically for their ability and desire to kill Dogs as a means to protect my remaining Horses, and I have found the remains that the Donkeys have left in the field.
