Nice colours and nice pattern...but i would prefer this image without your main subject key hanger and with a title something like "patterns" or so![]()
Nice start to the year, the only thing I've photographed this year is a white balance card.![]()
But do you still lose your keys then spend hours hunting for them when they are actually hiding in the pocket of another pair of trousers!
Verticals are upright which gives a nice bit of perspective to the horizontal lines.
When shooting Raw, with average scenes, the Auto White Balance setting usually does a good job and it is easy to tweak any slight corrections as necessary.
But for difficult colours or poor lighting and in particular with flowers and similar subjects I find that doing a Custom White Balance with a proper White Card will save a lot of messing around during editing by giving you a fixed starting point for reference.
Trousers? This be the Tropics. I wear shorts. And the answer is no. I only have two keys I use. the one for the gate is on the wall. when i open the gate to walk the dog I leave it in the yard. Upon returning i pick it up and hang it up. never sees the inside of my pcket. the other key is our front door key and it stays in the front door.
We rarely have clear skies. This means my lighting can go from cloudy to bright sunshine and back in 5 minutes. Would a white card be practical?
Yes that can be a problem; but a white card can still be useful for more stable lighting conditions where you are getting problems with false colours etc.
