Agreed. I like the gesture caught between man and child.

I like the moment you have captured but the only part that interests me is the interaction between the policeman and child so I think it would be improved if it was cropped to a portrait format eliminating the white post? behind the policeman.

Very good technically but the policeman's face could be a little lighter.

    Paul,
This is an excellent photo. There is an wonderful interaction between the Bobbie and the boy that grabs the viewer's eye.
My only suggestion would be to crop off some of the left side of the shot (perhaps up to our left of the diamond shape on the door) to clean up the background a bit.
When I first saw your picture I was immediately struck by its similarity to the 1958 Pulitzer Prize-winning photo by Bill Beall which appeared in the Washington Daily News.
Here is a link to that picture:

    Yours is a wonderful shot

Yes, maybe lose a bit from the left and go 4 x 5 ratio?

And one very small item. A bright spot on the top right corner of the background door frame.

    Definitely a good shot.

Hi Paul I like the image and I agree with the other members about cropping the image from the LHS .

I took this one just a few minutes after the first image. I think the kids loved talking to a police officer. This all took place as a parade went by.

Maybe could do with a crop as well.
