Is it dramatic or just over the top?

small aside, the wiring is external because rats live in bamboo and would eat the wire.
Is it dramatic or just over the top?

I think, the heavy one in front masks the view much

Nice exercise in structure and texture, Brian. A well thought-out study (just like the roof itself).

Re: Is it dramatic or just over the top?

    I really like it.

I wouldn't say it's dramatic, but it's strong and visually very interesting to my eye, as it has a great DOF and plenty of fine details.

My only niggle, and it's a double edged niggle really..

On the one hand the silver 'pipe' (conduit, with wires inside?) in the foreground ties up very nicely with (what I think is) the sliver of day light that replicates it's shape up near the top left hand corner, and that works well

But on the other hand, if the pipe wasn't there at all, the structure would be more mysterious, perhaps it's even a wooden boat or a place of ancient worship.

I'm not sure I've explained that very well...

If you meant that without the electrical wiring it would be open to more interpretations you explained it just fine. And you are right it would. But that would entail a whole bunch of very finicky cloning.

I'll take credit for the shot but the roof was done by master craftsmen.

Yes that's exactly what I meant and I suspect it would, probably why cloning isn't in my tool kit! (I'm sure it is in yours though, not trying to suggest otherwise)

Nicely composed, nicely lit to reveal the rich tones.

I am competent at cloning. There are two areas in this shot that needed some. But as i say taking out the wire.... doable but a lot of work.

I did work at the tones. But it is natural lighting.
