Ole - this is a much stronger composition than your original.
A couple of thoughts to keep in mind the next time you shoot this type of image.
1. It would have been better had you not cut off the elbow (camera right). These "amputations" can look a touch awkward and it being dark lets you (almost) get away with it. In a more brightly lit scene, this would have stood out more.
2. Is this shot of Tom Ward or of his guitar? The lighting and crop makes the guitar the most prominent feature of this image, and I'm not sure if this is what you want. You could play around with the crop some more to see what that gives you, understanding that you might lose parts of the guitar.
3. The image seems small and noisy? Is the original already a significant crop?
