Playing with Broken Toy - C&C Welcome

Hi, going forward on my photography venture I stopped and clicked another shot. Can you please review it and let me know what exactly is missing for it to make it much better?

It was shot in pushkar while going to the camel fair. I was lucky to have that reflection of light on the boy's face from a reflective surface. Just minor contrast adjustments in Lightroom and Photoshop. The boys were there on the slop (not a tilted frame bcoz I have level gauge enabled in my camera while shooting it as it a lying totally on that slop).

Please provide your views and suggestion with composition, frame, crops.

    Thank You

PS : Please click on the image for lightbox screen view (Highly recommended)

I prefer your crop version although I would clone out that bright spot to the left of the man's trousers.

    Hi Raj,

I find the decapitated chap on the left disconcerting, it's a shame you missed including his head, but in the heat of the moment, I'm sure I would have too.

I prefer your tighter crop with one exception; you have cropped to a point that just separates his arm from his body, if mine I think I would try having a slither more image across the top, so his arm is connected to his body.

As an alternative to increasing the height, a bit of creative cloning of extra shirt might do the trick better - I suggest this because there's a bit of an odd shape to his shirt in that area (probably why you didn't include it).

Hope those thoughts are helpful, Dave

Nice effort, I think you could crop a bit more and just have the standing fellow's hands in the frame, it totally changes the dynamic of the image.

Whatever you settle on for the composition, knowing that you like making monochromes I'm surprised you didn't convert this one to monochrome. The colors don't add to the image for me and actually detract from the toy, which is the focus of the boy's attention. Speaking of that, considering bringing more attention to the toy in your post-processing, as it seems to get lost in the current versions.

    Raj,

I was thinking of something like this. Along with your image title, it opens up more potential storylines.
