Hi Richard,
Excellent shots as usual, so I won't offer critique.
To me, in the individual shots, their faces say to me (respectively);
Worried
Concerned
Inquisitive
Tired
Not meant as criticism or concern on my part, just my observation/reading of (mainly) their eyes in these and I appreciate they are still getting to know you after who knows what hardships to date. I wonder how transitory these expressions are or if they do match their personalities in any way?
Cheers, Dave
Nice captures, cute pups.
Dave,
These pups came from a horrible environment and are totally lacking in social skills. Yes they are afraid (in fact terrified) however, they are slowly getting used to the environment in which they are living and should be more relaxed for the next photo session. We have found, that often when dogs are scared for the first shoot, they are more relaxed for second and subsequent shoots.
We dropped them all off for spaying at our vet this morning and I had to get some images last night so that we can post them on our rescue site. We can write today and tomorrow off as times for photography, since they will be a bit under the weather from surgery.
We have a rescue event coming up on Saturday and needed to get the pups photographed and spayed before the event.
We have already received some interest in the puppies due to these pictures we posted on our Facebook page
( https://www.facebook.com/MalteseRescueCalifornia/ ) and expect to meet the prospective furever families at the event.
Most of our adoptions during rescue events are from prior interest in the dogs we bring, not just walk by people. We prefer having people meet the dogs at rescue events than having them trapse through out home to meet the dogs.
A better shots for each of these dogs when they are already relax and not looking uncertain (as they are in these images) will be more appropriate should the potential owners will not like them, then somebody will...later on.
Good luck and a very happy new year to you and yours and your puppies.
We had a deluge of applicants for these four puppies at our rescue event today. All the new homes have been inspected and the applicants applications approved. The puppies now have new loving homes.
Well done Richard!
