I would love to have an extra room for a studio. That is a priority when we move. Robin wants to move closer to her family In Missouri and Oklahoma.

And I am trying to get away from Missouri...:( Maybe OK might be better...the only thing I like here is the Castle Doctrine. We have a strong one. But the taxes... fuggedaboutit.

That is what happens when voting districts are drawn up to favor one party. People in two cities pretty much rule the whole state. the minority rules the majority.
Re: Project 52 First quarter by Mark K week 3
Week 3 well it was taken last week anyway.:) I am on the fence on if this works or not.

It's raining. I better get started on week 4:D
Re: Project 52 First quarter by Mark K
The second image for me.
If you are photographing rusty junk you need to be rather extreme in the lighting to produce an interest effect with plenty of contrast. I suspect you could have pushed the contrast a little bit more.
Just one slight negative thought. The area towards the bottom of that image is starting to become fractionally soft.
Re: Project 52 First quarter by Mark K
Thanks Geoff, I'll try some more contrast. Maybe I'll try this stuff again later on. I hadn't notice the focus:(

Re: Project 52 First quarter by Mark K
Hi Mark,
I agree with Geoff that the second rusty shot was better.
Personally, I find the contrast in third, "More better?", too much.
The focus looks to have been on the rear most bolt, so you've not managed to get the most from the DoF from your f/9.
Hope those observations are helpful, Dave
Re: Project 52 First quarter by Mark K week 4
I was pretty happy with these Given this is pretty new to me. One issue I had was the frayed ends on some of the thread on some of the bobbins. no matter what I tried I couldn't clone them out. No matter where I sampled all I got was grey blurs. I cloned out some funky reflections that worked fine.

thanks Dave, and yes it helps. I agree on the third being too much.
Re: Project 52 First quarter by Mark K
I like the second one better too and now that you had edited the second one, I feel the same as Dave on that you overdid the process.
On the other hand, the last submission for Week 4 are all very nice. I particularly preferred #3 and #4 as they are neater.

Thanks for commenting Izzie,
I had a hard time with week three. It seemed that nothing worked the way I wanted it to.:D
