Mark,
#3 definitely brings your gaze into the composition, but I like the dizzying effects of #5.

#5 was a last minute idea. I was thinking The wall
Re: Project 52 First quarter by Mark K week 3
I must have skipped this. Very nice image Mark, I too prefer the second one :)

#2 and #3 for me Mark. The composition of #2 is very energetic and I like it and I like the simplicity in #3. If the image was mine I would try different crops for #3. A square crop might look better :)

With the thread shots, the first two are a bit soft in the foreground. The third and fourth are good. The last one is also quite acceptable.

Yeah, I noticed that after I tore down my setup. Thanks Geoff,

Your self-locking nuts look fine, Mark. Obviously a tricky exposure.

Thanks Geoff,
I had to move the lights around a bit to get the lettering to come out to my liking.
Funny thing was I had set up to do something else. when I saw the forgotten nut sitting on the desk. It had that clear deeply stamped lettering just screaming shoot me.:D
Re: Project 52 First quarter by Mark K
I like those nut shots. There is not much difference in them although the first one is more closer than the second one which letterings are more readable. Good exposure...

Thanks Izzie, #2 is somewhat darker and mostly one flat on the hex is visible in the reflection. I couldn't decide what one I liked best.
