Yellow Day Lily
Yellow Day Lilies from a bouquet of flowers from the grocery store - (I needed something to shoot and it is too cold outside )
Then I played with a painting filter I recently purchased (Impresso Pro) that allows you to apply different painting effects to the image

Re: Yellow Day Lily
I really like the first. It's all a matter of taste, but the filter on the second leaves me cold.
I haven't done much yet this winter, but I usually spend a lot of winter evenints photographing cut flowers indoors. Makes a nice winter photography project.

Nice capture, the first does seem a bit more creative, I see what you are doing with the second edit and perhaps it would work if you used it selectively.

Re: Yellow Day Lily
Thank you Dan, John, and Janis for your comments/feedback. The web sized version does not show off the filter effects very well. I'll have to continue to experiment/play with it.

Very nice and I prefer #1 as it is sharper.

Re: Yellow Day Lily
I like a dark background for bright flowers and a bright background for dark flowers. However, I don't like a white background for any flower.

Re: Yellow Day Lily
I love #1 -- I have them in my garden and love them very much but mine is gone now...too cold. I like the composition too.
