Good shots, Jim, well captured. I like the Hornet best, with the smoke trails. It has a nice overall colour.
Lucky B^stard JIm Flying in an F/A-18 is a life's dream ... and I can't even settle for taking photos of a real one
Thanks Jim,
If you're interested, here's a link to my favourite "in cockpit" ride in a Blue Angels aircraft (with the late (pilot) Kevin Davis) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uM9t_bbkeQc.
I'd certainly jump at the chance to go for a ride ... just I'd be happy just to do a few rolls; not really in to high-G manouvers anymore though (I think the most I ever pulled back in my Air Force days was +5, and that was quite enough!).
They are all great given the speed but I love No 3. That formation shot is great and it must be said so is their formation flying.
Great shots Jim!
Just out of interest, how far away was the flight line from the crowd?
Awesome shots, Jim!
Blows me away how the Angels fly like they do.
Kind of puckers me just looking at it in a still, much less in flight!
I was in the "Blue Sky Chalets".My guess around 150 to 200 yards from the flight line runway. Here's a seating map.
