Re: Skeletal Hydrangea
Striking images.
The second is really beautiful--well composed, nicely lit, and at this resolution, seemingly free of stacking artifacts.
The first is nice as well, and it's an even more appealing shape. However, for my tastes, it's a bit too low in contrast and too loose a crop. I played with it a bit, just doing a curves adjustment, a slight change in the white point, and a tighter crop, and I think that made it better. Just my taste.

Re: Skeletal Hydrangea
thanks. At that size, the quality of the stacking is clearer. I don't see any halos or other artifacts.

Re: Skeletal Hydrangea
Hi Johann,
I also really like these, but as Dan; I feel more could be made of the first one.
In particular, I think I'd have put the negative space on the other side (i.e. on right) and perhaps a bit less.

Lovely, Johann. My eye wishes there were a bit more room at the top in the second, but it is really gorgeous. And the other photos on your Flickr site are an absolute delight.

I'm one of those that have difficulty in visualizing...to that end I shoot tethered.
Having that image on my monitor allows me to make lighting adjustments in real time...
would have been beneficial with your first image.
