This is a case of full frame of interest as against a point of interest

Neville, great shot. I would suggest one possible edit; crop the bottom of the image to the very edge of the wash on the bottom LHS (that very small roll of water). By doing this, you both bring the horizon down to the lower third and have the dry sand, wet sand, that low wash zone and breakers, all disappearing on a diagonal from the lower LHS up into the upper RHS. Just a thought...

I was also thinking about a crop from the bottom; but I would only lose about half as much as Jack suggested to retain some of the sunlight damp sand.

Calm day scenes like this can be lacking in interest but you have nicely captured a lonely seascape.

Awesome shot Neville, I wouldn't crop the bottom in my opinion. I like it as it is.

What I would do is crop the bird out, I just scratched my screen thinking it was a mark

Nice image Neville with lovely tones. I think I'd have a play around with the highlights which are a bit bright for my taste. I thought the bird was a spot as well but I'm not sure I'd remove it because it at least adds a bit of interest and a talking point.

Neville -- one of your best shots! Absolutely beautiful! I cannot believe yellow can be so nice. I guess it has to be in a right place, and I always think of a beach shot in the golden hours as most I had seen. Really WOW!!!

Thanks guys. I love the simplicity of these coastal beach scenes. Clouds and reflected light on the sea can create great shapes.
