Hi I'm A K. I'm an artist working mostly with software and cameras to create ink prints on paper.
Hi
I have just joined,I am a hardened Nikon user, well have being since mid 80's before that was Olympus OM10 and before that Yashica MG-1 and Instamatic. So for almost my whole life i have had a camera, but only started to get into "it" in the 80's.Started with my D70 i still have it and think it needs to come out and play.At the moment i am on the D800 great to one of the best camera's in the world when you get it right, and that is not often, fussy as anything on lens.I had/have the D7200 well wife shoots with it as the ergo was not quite right for me coming from the D300,Still feel it was the best DX Nikon made.I am a 100% LIGHTROOM user only time i use PS is to test if there is anything in it, that it does better than LR at editing a correctly captured image. Well to date no it does not.I am a landscape and studio tog by heart, sadly dont get to do any studio so just hascking away at landscapes, and now added churches. This is an open offer i am happy to pass on what i know.i have being doing the help part for quite a few years.not here in the UK but in South Africa.
Hi. My name is Peter Brock. I am 54 and have been trying to make images for about 40 years. I wish I had pursued photography as a profession, but I took a more safe and secure route. I retired when I was fairly young and have been travelign and photographing ever since. I love Europe, but SE Asia is home to me. I live in Chiang Mai, Thailand and travel about 2 weeks a month. One reason photography is a passion for me is I will never stop learning and I love that I can go and look at the same scene and see it differently.
I was dragged kicking and screaming into the digital age when I was shooting for a magazine in Cambodia (I had to give up my rangefinder) and now shoot with the Fuji X system, which is like my old rangefinders but much better (and more complicated).
Being here, I shoot a lot of people, temples, markets, etc. The temples at night in particular give one a great opportunity to develop post processing skills as the white are so affected by the sodium vapor lights, or the crummy lights they have on them. It is a fun challenge though. I am posting one photo from up North (Mae Hong Son). Out of the camera, there was almost no white as the gold overwhelmed it, and they lit it with blue, orange, and white lights! A WB nightmare! But, I am reasonably pleased with the result. I use mostly LR and Nik software. Thoughts welcome. Oh, this is just a few temples from the probably 20 that were there.
My name is Bill and pleased to join CIC - I have looked at the site previously for advice and information and did register but due to computer crash lost my login details.
I have been taking photographs for some years and have 3 Canon cameras 600D,7D mark 1 and 5D Mark111 - I also have a Nikon P900.
I manly like to shoot landscape, wildlife and flowers and ,occasionally, some street photography.
I am posting a shot I took in Martin Mere Wildfowl Sanctuary and welcome any comments.
Hi Bill,
Glad you got back in (or started afresh) - welcome to CiC.
Unfortunately, your image didn't show up, however - for critique, you really need to start a new thread in the appropriate forum; e.g. Nature & Architecture for something shot at Martin Mere.

PS, so we remember who you are - could you do me a favour please?
Could you click Settings (right at the top),
then Edit Profile (on left)
and put 'Bill' in the Real Name field
and where you are (roughly) in the Location field,
then click the Save Changes button below and to right,
this helps everyone give you more personal and relevant answers - thanks in advance.
Hi everyone, I'm Tony and this is my very first post. I have recently just really got into photography and bought myself a shiny new toy. Really look forward to chatting to you all.
Cheers.
Hi, all.
I'm Les, living in Gloucestershire in the UK. I'm retired and now have more time to develop my photography hobby. Having spent my career in IT, including lecturing in industry, I'm comfortable with software and enjoy learning about how the s/w works as well as what it achieves with my images.
I've enjoyed reading a number of the tutorials on this site previously on colour management and tonight got here finding a thread about DNG files. I'd like to understand a little about in just what form the edit instructions are held in a DNG file. Any pointers, please?
Many thanks.
Les
Hi Les:
Welcome to the forum! I am in a very similar place to you, having worked in IT for 30 years and now essentially retired. I am making what was a job for me into my retirement plan. The great thing is that it is an unending journey of discovery and joy, both in technical and artistic contexts.
I hope you will have a great time here. There are people here with amazing technical and artistic skills and they are generous, polite and supportive of our efforts to provide a home for a shared love of photography.
cheers: Trev
Hello from Niagara Region, Ontario, Canada. I use a fuji X-T2 as my main camera and X10 for lightweight. I was introduced to photography by our local youth group leader when I was 16 (a lot older now). Enjoyed the darkroom and technical aspect of photography. Interested in travel photography, landscape and people. But since my background is in information technology, I am enjoying most the post-processing as a way to find my creativity. Looking forward to be an active participant.
Hi! My name is Joe. I live in northwestern Wisconsin, in the US. I'm just getting started in photography, hoping to learn a lot from members here.
HI my name is Tony and I live in a small village close to Cumbernauld, Scotland. I use a bridge camera and at present it is a panasonic lumix fz1000
Good Morning from a sunny cold Isle of Wight, GB.
A hybrid snapper of film and digi cameras. Been pressing shutter buttons for 50+years. About thirty cameras in collection, but only a few in use. As a watch and clock collector, use macro a fair bit, plus seascape and landscapes outside. Been judging clubs' photographic competitions for over fifteen years, and have seen quite a change in styles and processing obsessions. Biggest technical changes have been in the welcome increase in the quality of printers and prints.
Hi Tony and welcome on board. Apologies for the deferred welcome and hope to see you around.Hi everyone, I'm Tony and this is my very first post. I have recently just really got into photography and bought myself a shiny new toy. Really look forward to chatting to you all.
Cheers.

Would you mind updating your profile so that your name and whereabouts you are appear alongside each of your posts.

Hi there, it's not so cold but cloudy up here in the North! You've got a lot of experience that I hope you will be sharing with us soon! We've quite a few "mature" members, me included, but we're all the same age onlineGood Morning from a sunny cold Isle of Wight, GB.
Could you please update your profile with your "real name" (Dobra is fine if that's what you want) and add "Isle of Wight" to your location. We are all on first name terms, and it's nice (and sometimes helpful) to know where everyone is in the world.
Regards, Dave
