Hello everyone, I'm Maz from Southampton! Just found your forum while looking for subject matter regarding infra red conversions and the lens/camera combinations people are finding the best 😊
Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
Hi I'm Mandy and am sharing my time between Warwickshire and London in the UK. I love photography, but I don't have the skill set I would like to have at my fingertips just yet. I'm hoping, with hard work and sheer determination, coupled with a couple of nice lenses, to improve. :) I'm 50, been married for almost eternity and have two grown boys who have flown the nest, yay. We have three cats, are dogless at the moment but have always had dogs and love being out doors and walking and photographing the wildlife, I just wish I could carry the weight of the longer lenses.
Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
Hello
My name is Rob.
I've had the good fortune to have lived in the southwest, northwest and midwest and am currently in a burb outside Chicago.
I've loved photography and film/video since my high school days in the 70's.
I gone through many phases in both still and motion over the years.
From Dark Room days to full frame DSLR's to Super 8, Scuba and a host of camera and film equipment.
My wife has been shooting stills since high school also.
Today, we both enjoy an afternoon with our Bridge Cameras, shooting things we find on trips, trails or birds/animals passing through the back yard. All for nothing more then the pleasure of sharing/viewing in the evening after a days shooting.
I'm happy to have found Cambridge Colour for it's wealth of informative information as one can never stop learning this medium.
Happy New Year!
Rob
Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
Hi everyone, I'm one of all 7,481,918,980 of us at time of writing, phew!
I'm a lifelong enthusiast photog, given a Kodak Instamatic as I entered my teens and the school camera club and darkroom, through a Olympus OM-2 with 28, 50, and 100mm lenses, to Fuji X-E2 with 14mm and 35mm (1.4). I did have a Canon iP5200 printer for years, was never really happy with it, atm only have a non-photo printer and am keenly eyeing up a P800 (over the 600 due to larger carts).
I like abstact, minimalist, b&w, pastel color images mainly, and ones that stir the emotions.
Software: CS5 with Lr and Nik, and Lr Enfuse.
Edit: I should add that I work on a Win8.1 lappie with ips screen, and have a Dell U2414H with the same resolution that doesn't get used as much as it should. There is also the old Spyder2 sitting nearby, which will be the subject of my first post...
Re: Hello and welcome to everybody
With apologies for not greeting you sooner.

Hi, I am a long retired (but bursting with enthusiasm) 74 year old.
Hi there,
Welcome to CiC as a member (and thanks for the lovely Cuban girl portrait). It's clear that you have a wealth of experience, so I hope that as well as taking your photos to the next level, you can help the rest of us take better photos too - that's what we are all about, sharing and helping.
Would you mind updating your profile so that we know where you are based (UK or Welwyn Garden City is is fine), and a "real" name.
Cheers, Dave
Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
Hi there, and a very warm welcome. Delighted that you have decided to join up. Look forward to seeing more and hearing more from you. Where abouts in the world are you (and can you add it to your profile)?
Regards, Dave

Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
Hi Maz, and welcome. If you want more info on infra red etc, I suggest that you post a question in the "Digital Cameras and Equipment" forum where more folks will read it and be able to help you.

Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
Hi Mandy. Nice introduction I feel I know you already!
We are all about helping each other learn, so you have certainly come to the right place. There are systems with lighter long lenses, but that may be a long discussion :) Anyway, I think you will do just fine here.
Regards, Dave

Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
Hi all.
Alan from from North West England.
Currently using EOS 40D (Still a great workhorse) and EOS 7d Mk1.
Shooting predominantly wildlife - 95% birds with a Sigma 150-500. I'm getting acceptable results with this set up so see no reason to upgrade just yet.
For PP I'm using Adobe CC (Lightroom & Photoshop) with Topaz denoise. Also occasionally use DxO Optics Pro 9
Looking forward to picking up and sharing useful tips and tricks
Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
