Hi Dave sure i will
Hello all I am John living in Lima Peru, I am presently taking photos of local rock art and seeking to age the art by the change in brightness, reflectance -it looks as if the images fade over time. So I am working on measuring the absolute light intensity from digital images. And of course sometimes taking great photos too. I have posted one very low res image so you can see this amazing art which is 500 to 1000 years old....probably! [URL="http://http://lookatsouthamerica.com/1579-2/"]
G'day,
My name is Richard. I am a septuagenarian and have had a casual interest in photography since I got my first camera, a Kodak Brownie, about sixty years ago. Like many I have found the digital camera liberating since I can take as many images as I need with out worrying about the cost of processing and more importantly I can also check the results immediately after releasing the shutter. I like to take photos of the places that I have visited. I like to take landscapes, street scenes and any unusual features of the areas that I visit. I am interested in and like to photograph nature, historic buildings, veteran, vintage and classic cars, trucks, trains and machinery and anything that is powered by steam although I draw the line at taking photos of the household steam iron!!. I do take the occasional photos of family and friends but portrait photography is not a genre that excites me. Whilst I will continue to take photos of the things that I am interested in I also wish to improve the artistic elements of photography as well as exploring time lapse, macro and star-scape photography.
My equipment includes a Nikon D300, D800 and recently a surprise gift from my wife of a Nikon D7500. I have two prime lenses and an assortment of zoom lenses which overall gives me a range from 16mm to 600mm including a Nikon 16-35mm f4, Tokina 24-70mm f2,8, Nikon 70-200mm f4 and the original Tamron 150-600mm.
I have already read some of the very informative threads on this forum and decided to register so that I can participate in some of the discussions.

Hello Everyone,
I am Jim from Herefordshire in the UK. I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing here, but I have an interest in "Video Astronomy" (You might call it astrophotography with only a few seconds or minutes of exposures) and I also take the odd terrestrial photo in pusuit of my other interests. I'm hoping I might pick up some inspiration for new projects and perhaps learn from others' experience. Here is a shot of the Dumbbell Nebula from August taken with a StarlightXpress Lodestar camera through a 6" telescope @ f/6.3. It is a stack of 3x15s red images, 3 green and 3 blue...
you'll find you're in good company. When the skies permit there are a few of us who enjoy astro work.
My name is Dan Graham....I'm from San Diego, CA. I began photography in college, but didn't make it a career. After retirement I started photography again. It has turned into a full time occupation and provides a nice income. I'm a Canon user (2 Canon 6Ds and multiple pro lens)...
I've run into a problem in Photoshop CC 2018 and NIK software. NIK software shows as a filter and I'm able to select and use it on images. However, when I select OK to save and continue, PS CC 2018 quits. I've copied the NIK files from PS CC 2017 and pasted them in 2018 to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.
Dan, welcome to CiC. I run both Photoshop CC 2018 and the Nik Collection and have not had any issues.
First question would be does your computer meet the minimum specs to run this software? The reason I ask is that I replaced my video card this week because it no longer meets the recommended requirements after the recent update and even though it met the published "minimum" requirements, it was not a lot of fun to use in certain operations. Here are Adobe's latest requirements for v19.

Hi, new member here.
I have been snapping away for around 40 years, but there is always something new to learn.
I don't have one particular style and I am just a hobbyist, but this year I have been getting to grips with multiple off camera flash for portraits. Just dogs for subjects so far, and I hope at some point to be brave enough to tackle a human subject.
Also been trying out ND filters for landscape pictures, which I had never really tried properly before.

I have always found CIC website very useful and I hope I can both learn from and contribute to the forums.
Hello everyone,
I am Daniel from Budapest. I started photography one month ago, as a hobby, so I have a lot to learn.
I am especially interested in night sky photography, but I am also open to other topics. This photo above is from this morning, I really like the colours of the early morning sky, before dawn.
Hi Daniel, welcome to CiC and to the wonderful world of photography. This is a great place to share and learn, and remember that the only dumb question is the one that you don't ask!
There are members here who have an interest in pretty much every area of photography, including night skies, so if you'd like feedback on your pictures just post them in Nature and Architecture, and ask for "C&C"
Dave
Hi - I'm a new member from Mesa Arizona. I've been shooting with a Nikon D700, but I'm about to jump ship and purchase a Sony A7R III.
I've used the impressive and helpful resources of this site for a long time; the forum seems like a equally rewarding place.
I shoot digital and analog - I'm a real enthusiast; apart from taking pictures, exploring gear is another passion (even though things are settling down overall). I have lots to learn about post processing specifically - and that goes for film, too, even if that's a totally different matter. Another growing interest is printing, and, by extension, scanning - but those two aspects will probably have to take a back seat for some while to come because both demand a lot of time I'd rather spend shooting.

Hi, my name is Finn. I am born and grown up in Denmark, after military service have I worked in the IT business for IBM and Hitachi Data Systems, after 4 Decades of work in Denmark, UK and Germany am I now retired and live in Germany. I live in an area where the nature is gorgeous, and to share that with others photography became an interest. I got hooked and took an online course from New York Institute of Photography, and later I acquired the “Wedding and Portrait international certificate” by WPPIC. I have a small business doing Boudoir and Glamour shooting, however, most of my work is a non-profit following a Belly Dance group and shooting their performance. I am a Nikon shooter using D4S, D800 and D5100 bodies, however, all my lenses are Sigma. On the software side, I mainly use Capture One, Photoshop and Exposure X3. I have just bought 3D LUT Creator and is amazed, what I can do with this tool, however, I guess I need mouths to be able to master it.
Hello Finn, and a warm welcome to CiC. That's a very impressive cv you have there, and I hope you'll be sharing your expertise and photographs (following a belly dance troupe sounds an entertaining way to spend one's retirement).
I'd never heard of 3D LUT Creator, so I had a look. My mind is suitably blown!
Best regards,
Dave
Hi My names Art and I got hooked on taking photos about a year ago. Whenever possible I'm riding around the Vancouver area on my bicycle taking photos. For me the fun is in taking the photo, and is where I hope to keep learning.
