Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
Good morning everyone from sunny, southern California. I accidentally stumbled across this site and thought it looked helpful. I'm retired and quite the infrared photography enthusiast. This is the third time in my life I have delved into this photography subject. I guess we could refer to it as a "nagging calling" that seems to never get conquered. I'm hoping there are other infrared lovers somewhere within these forums with whom I can exchange ideas. At the moment though, I have a DXO question so I will mosey on over there.

Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
Hello,
I take photos of birds, grandkids and a few other things. Recently got a 645 Pentax 400mm which I use with a Canon 750d via adapter. Was having trouble with camera shake. Gave up on tripods and used any available things that is handy such as a tree. Carry around a lump of foam to cushion the lens.
I also use a Sinar Norma for close up work. The Canon 750d glues to this via 645 lens adapter and a 645 reversing ring attached to a Sinar plate.
Recent photo taken using 645 400mm. f8 1/1600, leaning against tree. You can't see it because I couldn't upload it. Tried but gave up. P.S. the image is 11.9 MB
All the Best Bob

Hi Bob,
You can start a gallery on this forum and linked the image from there or share through a website such as Flickr. Regarding the camera shake, if you can't overcome movement through the use of a tripod or a level surface then perhaps the issue lies elsewhere. On your recent shot at 1/1600 what ISO setting were you using?

Hi Bob, welcome to CiC.
If you haven't yet found the instructions here for posting photos on CiC, the first few posts have a lot of important information, including info about file size: https://www.cambridgeincolour.com/fo....htm#post34381 .

I must be missing something.
Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
Not sure how that happened. Thanks Bruce. I'm not too good with computers.
Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
ISO was 400 John. I did try a test shot using the heavy tripod I use with the Sinar and a cable release. It gave up/down camera shake. I guess the foot on the collar of the Pentax 645 400mm being small allows a bit of wobble when the mirror moves. When I 'support' the lens 'front and camera' things are ok.
Regards Bob

Hello all, I am from Vancouver Island, British Columbia Canada. I am currently using a Canon EOS 7D 18 =135 kit lens, 70 - 300 telephoto and a 150 - 500 Sigma telephoto. Have been shooting for over 30 years now and am self taught via the internet and from various books. I retired in 2011 after a duel career as a Bank Manager and the Fire Service. Looking forward to increasing my skills. I love both wildlife and landscape photography. When I retired my wife and I travelled over 2 million miles around North America visiting all 10 provinces and territories as well as 35 states including Alaska by RV.

As a fellow Vancouver Islander, I welcome you to CiC. I'm sure you'll find CiC both interesting and friendly.

Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
Hi Edward, and a warm welcome to CiC. We all learn from each other here, so if you have questions just jump right in and ask.
I don't think we have many members here from South Korea so I hope you will be sharing some of your images with us.
Best regards, Dave

Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
Hi Maria, welcome to CiC.
I've had a look at some of the photos on your website. Of the ones I've seen so far, I particularly liked "Absent reader", perhaps partly because piles of books are something I can readily relate to!
Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
Hello, I’m Teresa from North Carolina, USA. I’ve been doing photography for as long as I’m remember really. It’s wasnt only until a few years back that it became my new “nitch” so to speak. In 2013 I became disabled and my world turned upside down. Not being able to work really messed with me and It left me feeling not grounded with any purpose career wise. So once I found myself finding that using my camera and doing photography was helping me mentally in wonderful ways. It took my mind off my physical pain and re focused my attention to something I love doing. I love fine art photography, macro, landscape, astrophotography and action. I dabble little in portrait photography. However I do enjoy it all! I have a service dog named Husker whom gives me the independence I lost. I will post a pic of him. I love posting my work and seek constructive criticism. I find I am always reading and studying everything possible regarding photography and how to improve my work. I look forward to being part of this forum!
Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
Hi Teresa, welcome to CiC. You'll find it a friendly group. Several of us live with various disability issues so you'll be in good company. I look forward to seeing a photo of Husker.

Hello,
My name is Damber Kumar Nirola from Thimphu Bhutan. I am a practising Psychiatrist and Professor of Psychiatry in Bhutan. One of my hobbies is photography. I have a basic level DSLR Canon EOS 80D with which I go around, when time permits, to capture whatever I get to see. I am keen on learning more about photography so that I can improve my skills. I had been learning a lot from this webpage even before I registered. I found this site very interesting and I hope to learn from all the eminent photographers, who are members of the forum.
Thank you for giving me this avenue.
Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
Damber,
Welcome and looking forward to seeing your images.
