Hi everyone.
I'm Joe from Sydney Australia. I'm not that good at taking photos but I am learning.

Hello, my name is Lynn and I'm fairly new to photography. I have a Sony A6000, and I'm hoping to use it and the tutorials on this site to really improve my photography skills this year.
Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
Hi Jon - well, Baku sounds pretty exotic to me. I certainly hope you will be sharing some shots.
Welcome to Cambridge in Colour

Hi Joe, and a warm welcome to CiC
This is a learning site where everybody helps everybody else (and in a supportive way), so you'll fit right in. The only dumb question is the one that you don't ask! Don't forget the tutorials either.
Regards, Dave

Hi Lynn, and a warm welcome to CiC
The tutorials are very good, but don't be afraid to share your photos and ask for feedback (asking for C&C is the jargon). This is a friendly and supportive place and I know that you'll get all the help you need.
It woudl be helpful if you could add your (approximate!) location to your profile.
I've just noticed that you've entered one of the competitions - excellent.
Regards,
Dave

Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
Hello, I'm a new member to the forums. I'm an amateur photographer with interests in several types of photography such as portraits, landscapes, sports and nature. My camera is a canon 80d and I have a few different lenses.
I am located in South East Queensland Australia.
I will post when I have any thing to say, but at the moment I am looking and learning from existing posts. I will be moving over to Moreton Bay in April and am planning on joining Caboolture photography club.
Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
I have a Sony Alpha 300 camera and recently retired. I am participating in an Adult Learning 'Introduction to Digital Photography' course. The course leader recommended Cambridge in Colour for details that he wouldn't have time to cover, e.g. the physics behind 'depth of field'. Where do I find a tutorial on this?
Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
Hi Neil, and welcome on board. Of course it's fine to only post when you have something to say, but if things aren't clear, then do ask for clarification.
Could you please add "South East Queensland to your profile so it appears alongside all your posts - as well as being interesting, it can be helpful when offering advice. Regards, Dave

Hello and welcome to CiC. I think this will help: https://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tu...h-of-field.htm but if things aren't clear please do ask in the forums.
Hope you are surviving the current weather - it's a bit grim up north!
Regards, Dave

Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
Hi, I am HelenClare, I have held a camera in my hands for just on 4 years - seriously anyway - and have been on a wonderful and sometimes frustrating journey but Oh so much fun! I have met wonderful people along the way some teaching me so much about photography. I travel when I can and just love the challenge of getting "that shot" of wildlife. Landscape is next on the list - perhaps neck and neck with wildlife - but this poses different challenges. I enjoy learning new techniques and like "getting it right in camera" first then post production in Lightroom and Photoshop for a few tweeks. Even Ansell Adams used a darkroom version of 'dodge and burn'!
Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
Hi, everybody. My name is Tom. I'm usually in Europe. I started to take photos in the 1990s...
My first camera was a Zenit E, which my father gave me. The first one that I bought myself was a Canon EOS-500N.... I wasted many rolls of Fuji Sensia and Fuji Superia then...
Nowadays I use mostly Sony E-mount cameras.
Cheers.
Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
Hello, I'm Melody! I'm from Indiana, my husband and I drive a semi-truck for a living, so we get to see lots of different places. This last Christmas he bought me a Canon Rebel T6, I think, still completely new to all of this. I've always dabbled in photography an would love to know more, I see things differently, I think of angles and lighting, how could I capture what I see to show others, though at times is doesn't always or even really come across the way I would like it to. So, I'm always open to suggestions. For the most part we/I take a lot of landscapes(because of the traveling), but when were shut down I'd like to try others, pets, portraits, etc. I just look forward to know more about my camera and taking pictures, to try an express what I see, to show others. Thank you for your time and I look forward to having fun and learning a lot of new things.

Hi all
New here!
I found this great website whilst getting more familiar with macro photography. Also starting using the photography tools, which are extremely useful.
Right...off to the forums

Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
Hey, glad to be here, having just retired recently I’m looking forward to having more time to enjoy this hobby. I have toyed with photography off and on since the service and each time the advances have been overwhelming. Going from film to digital and a darkroom to the computer!
On a recent trip to Arizona I decided to bring my camera bag with me and reacquaint myself with my D3300. Before I had a chance to even open the bag someone took it out of the back of my truck. Foolish me forgot to lock the tailgate, besides the camera bag they also got one of our bags. Of course it was the wife’s so a shopping trip ensued.
This event made me rethink my desire to dive back into photography. Well photography won and I’m back in the game. Picked up a D7500 kit, new backpack etc. Now for the fun!
Looking forward to reading and learning from others as I continue on my photography journey.

I'm Bruce. Serious amatuer photographer. Never consider my work good enough to be professional, though I have made several thousand as a photographer. Always looking to learn.
