Hello, I am new to cic, will look around and take it all in.
Hi all,
Just joined and am looking forward to what I can learn on here. Been interested in photography for a number of years and always going out with my camera.
Enjoy all types of photography from landscapes to capturing wildlife and insects like the one that I have captured here. You never know what type of photo you are going to get until you go out and take it in reality.
It was just a matter of being at the right place at the right time to get the photo that I did on this day.

I have my EOS1300D now for second year, before that i used digital compacts(Fuji and Olympus) and in my younger age i used old Russian film cameras after my mom(still have them btw). I am looking forward for new photography experience by sharing my pictures with you guys because so far i just hold them in a "box" and i will start right away
Hi, my name is John. Cambridge born and bread keen amateur photographer currently using Canon 6D + Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L macro lens.
Do you guys know how to change my profile picture?
Hi John. Welcome to the forum.
If you have any questions (apart from- How do I change my profile pic?) just ask away. I hope you enjoy the group.
As to your profile picture ............
Do you mean your profile picture or your avatar. They are two separate things. If you mean the wee pic appearing beside your posts, then that your avatar. I am assuming this is what you mean. So, ............
1) Go into 'Settings' from the menu at the top of the page.
2) Go into 'Edit Avatar' from the menu listed at the left hand side of the page.
and go from there. If you want your own picture, you need to load it up somewhere Tinypics, Flickr, or your own webpage if you have one, etc) that can share it with the forum and size it to 80 x 80 pixels.
Welcome David... This is a friendly site with many photographers of all levels of expertise...

Hi,
Tord from Sweden here, just retired, after many decades of driving buses.
Love nature and everything that flies, including aircraft, birds, bats, flying insects, and model airplanes.
So my lenses are as long as I can afford, plus a handful of primes, and three micros.
Love spending time in the Thai jungle, trying to find something even more interesting!
Thank you very much for welcome from older members and greetings to new ones
Hello, I am Margaret from Brisbane, Australia. Retired but doing volunteer work. I'm using an Olympus OMD em5 mk2 and have produced some good images but I fumble around a lot. Lack of confidence doesn't help. So current project is to become more proficient and follow the advice to practise, practise, practise.
Hi, I am Beth from Devon. Photography is my hobby but I do have a lot to learn, especially as i have a beautiful, new Sony dsc-rx10 iv to play with. All new knowledge, constructive criticisms and advice will be gratefully received. 😁
Hello Beth.
There are CinC members from all over the world but not many of us from are from Devon. I'm in the extreme south.
Greetings:
I'm new to photography. I recently enrolled in an online photography course and bought a Lumix GX85. Originally I took up photography to improve images for websites I develop. (My other hobby.) Now I want to learn photography as an artistic medium of expression.
I have a wide range of interest. I live and work in New York City.
With kind regards, Daniel
Hello Daniel, and a very warm welcome to CiC. If you want to learn and share with some like minded people, then you are in the right place. I hope that we will hear and see much more from you.
It woul be good if you could add your location and "Daniel" to your profile so they will appear alongside all of your posts. As well as it being nice to know, your location can be useful when offering advice.
Regards, Dave
Hello! my name is Caterina from Italy. I have been following CIC for a while, but I never posted because I thought that my pictures weren't good enough. The quality of what I see here is soooo high! Now I have decided to make the big jump and try to post in the hope that the criticisms coming from the community will help me to improve. I used a Nikon D3200 and I have now bought a Fujifilm xT-30 that I'm still trying to get acquainted with.
