Hello, Cory here in South Dakota. I have enjoyed photography for many years although I can't claim to be exceptional at it. Have mostly used Canon products starting in film days and now use a Canon 60D with Canon EF 35 f2; Canon EFS 18-56 f3.5-5.6; and Tamron 18-270 f3.5-5.6. Have enjoyed information picked up here and look forward to increasing my technical expertise.
Hello, I'm Bob and I live in a beautiful part of rural Suffolk UK.
I've been forced to retire from professional driving and now stay at home taking photographs of what can be found in (and close to) my garden to pass the time, hence most are close ups.
Although I use ancient low cost "preloved" cameras and obscure lenses, I'm happy with the results...after all, I just have to please myself.
My meagre efforts can be viewed on my Flickr page
Thanks for reading.
Howdy from Texas!
I joined Cambridge in Colour a few years ago but I have only read the tutorials and done a bit of lurking. Now it seems to be a time become more active.
I am a retired math teacher from the Houston area. My primary photo interests are black and white photography, panoramas, and macros. My gear is Pentax and my main forum is pentaxforums.com.
Creating gear for my photography is part of my hobby, and I have built my studio macro setup, including my own automatic stacking rail which uses a stepper motor driven linear screw and an Arduino microcontroller.
Currently I am building a programmable, motorized tripod head for panoramas. It will have both pan and tilt axes to allow taking multi-tier panoramas. If all goes as planned, it will be controlled via Bluetooth from my iPhone to eliminate the need for a keypad and display.
Hi Bob, and a warm welcome to CiC. I hope you enjoy being a part of this community. There are quite a few members who make the same kind of images that you have in your Flickr stream, so if you are looking to share or ask for tips be sure to post some images (use the Nature and Architecture forum). Please could you also add your name and general location to your profile, so that they appear alongside all your posts. As well as being nice to know where people are in the world, it can be useful when offering advice.
Regards, Dave
Well howdy to you (or should that be y'all)
Sounds like you are creating some interesting stuff for your photography. I think there would be quite a few members around here, probably landscape and architecture photographers, interested in how the tripod head goes - sounds like a neat idea.
Look forward to hearing and seeing more from you,
Cheers, Dave
Greetings.
Stumbled upon this site while doing some research and am looking forward to exploring it and learning from it. I was introduced to photography many moons ago while in high school and now, having joined the retirement club, am looking forward to re-igniting the passion for the art that I once had.

Hi People,
My name is Steve (73 yrs.)
I live 12 km. south (actually it's east) of Powell River, BC Canada
Google Map didn't like looking through the trees so....
I live alone, on a couple of acres (not too far away from the end) of a dead end road. This area is zoned agricultural and has a lot of wild animals roaming around and through the area. I'm about 5 or 6 minutes (by car) from the salt water and a couple of beaches.
I got to this site via flickr. I'm just learning photo editing, so I'm new to GIMP
