New member saying hello !
Hello everyone. My name is David, I was born Dutch, lived and worked mainly in the UK and some in Holland, I'm now retired and living in central France in the Natural Park Périgord-Limousin between Limoges and Périgueux. I started taking photos with Brownie 127 (anyone remember those ?) given to me by my parents when i was about 11. Never looked back !
Canon enthusiast AE1/T70/T90 in the film days, then 600D/70D. Recently, overcome by the weight of a 24-70 f2.8, a 70-200 f2.8 and a 10-20mm wide angle, plus the body of course, I decided to change to Fuji. Now shooting an X-T3 with 18-55mm f2.8/f4 as walk about lens, a 50-200mm f3.5, the 100-400 f4.5/f5.6 for wildlife, and with the Viltrox adaptor, a Canon 100mm f2.8 macro and a Canon 50mm f1.8 for portraits. Half the weight and better high ISO performance - no regrets.
What do I shoot ? We are blessed with abundant wildlife and fine scenery around us here which provide endless inspiration and historic towns and châteaux for architecture, but my favourite subject is my fellow citizens.
Comments and criticism always welcome.

Re: NEW MEMBER? Please Introduce Yourself Here
Hello, I am from The Netherlands, I am a glad member of the digital photography enlightment age. I am a Sony Alpha photographer, at the moment with an A7iii. I am a member of Fotoclub Vleuten.
I have a website at Wix: www.veryloudspeaker.nl. This name is because of: I have build my own loudspeaker(s), I have a rather loud voice, and a very outspoken (political and otherwise) view of things. I will not go into this here ....
I print my own photos and I am really interested in the technique of photography and printing.
I will leave it at that, for now. Thank you for listening, Hans

My name is Ray Quackenbush, 67 YOA living in a town of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania in the eastern part of the United States.
I have been taking photos off and on since 1971 and enjoy taking photos of anything that appeals to me. As I say whatever happens to fall in front of my lens. I presently use a Nikon D90 and enjoy using it. I am still learning anything I can and very willing to listen to advice from anyone and it is a very much a learning experience.

Hi Ole, and welcome to CiC. Go right ahead and post some images for feedback. It always helps if you say what you were trying to achieve, and maybe where you think you fell short.
Having fun is great, this is a very good humoured community.

Good morning,
I’m Harrison, a very amateur photographer in San Diego, CA, USA. Still have lots to learn—which is part of the fun! And trying to figure out what my favorite subjects are. :) Looking forward to retirement and spending a lot more time out shooting photos.

Hi JohnR. Born Newark, Notts. UK many years ago. Migrated to Australia 1966 & been here ever since. Live south of Hobart in Tasmania - our States capital City. Have revisited the UK several times over the last 17 years as I still have a brother and his extensive family living there.
Never a professional photographer although photography was always a big part of my duties/work. Early training with Linhoff and Graphlex 5x4 cameras, micro & macro photography, Bronica/Roleiflex and Nikon cameras. Went digital 2002 with Fujifilm, Pentax moving back to Nikon in 2006. Retired 2010 since when my photography has been a hobby only. I have two Olympus M4/3 (EM-1 & EM-5), a waterproof Olympus compact for when it rains and two Nikons - a D5600 + 2 lens and a Coolpix A1000 for bike rides. Anyway that's me guys - I'm looking at this forum as I'm getting a little tired of the UglyHedgehog people with their constant "I only shoot RAW or FF or only do PP" and their continued criticism of what they persist in calling cropped sensor cameras.
Cheers JohnR

Hello and welcome, JohnR.
I too am a retired xpat, moved to USA from Lincoln in '85 and I too hate the term "crop sensor". I also have a couple of m4/3 but don't use them much.
Looking forward to any shots you get of your local thylacines ... :D

Hello Jeab, and welcome to CiC. I've visited BC just the once and it is a beautiful place, with so much variety. I hope you will share some images with us. (Although my avatar picture was taken over the border at the Calgary Stampede!)

Hi Harrison and a warm welcome. We're all learning here, but some are ahead of others (and there is a pretty good sprinkling of retirees)! So jump right in and enjoy yourself. Incidentally, one of our regular posters, Richard who posts as rpcrowe, is also from San Diego.
Best Regards, Dave
